Information Technology

The Information Technology Department is primarily responsible for the maintenance and management of the City's fiber optics and wireless networks, servers, computers, telephone system, surveillance cameras, the City website, as well as user support. Maintenance includes the installation and support of the city's 50 servers, 250 computers and 80 laptops as well as over 100 printers and scanners. Information Technology also maintains and supports over 250 wired and wireless telephone instruments, 30 surveillance cameras, 78 wired and wireless network devices and over 30 miles of fiber optic cable on which five different network domains reside.

In addition to hardware, the Information Technology Department also supports and maintains several enterprise wide applications such as Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Outlook Web Access, Incode, New World Systems, Laser Fiche and Performance Impact Workplace. Data security responsibilities include running daily backups of data, anti-virus, spam and internet filtering management. Desktop support for over 250 user and voicemail accounts is another responsibility for the six person staff.
